These bullet points are some extrapolations from my studies on the Tao Te Ching (literally, "Book of The Way"), an ancient influence of Zen Buddhism in China and beyond.
Allow people to be the way they are.
Don't force change
Have no expectations
Accept change
Practice self-restraint
Compete with no one
Do not desire
Simplicity, patience, compassion are the three jewels of the master
Be gentle with yourself and others
Accept all as honored guests
There is no worse situation than having an enemy
Forgive yourself for the things you did while you were unconscious
Forgive everyone else for the things they did while they were unconscious
Live according to your conscience
Do not judge
Grasp at nothing, there is nothing to hold on to
Let the future arrive when it wants
Let the now be what it is
Let the past go
Move with the flow of the river Tao
Peacefulness is the foundation of all awakening
Grow awake and understand what is
Serenity is the source of all particular things
All things emanate from Tao
Returning to Tao is serenity
All things return
